What's up?
First, a correction to the link for the Cadillac Sky show in Maple Ridge in February, it's www.theactmapleridge.org
Now, some vital information to aid you in your Christmas shopping!
This Friday Dec 7, the airwaves will drift your way with the Clover Point Drifters, performing for the CBC's Annual Foodbank Show broadcast from the Bay Centre in downtown Victoria. The show starts at 3pm, and the Drifters are scheduled to perform at about 5:10pm. They'll play some bluegrass tunes, with some seasonal surprises thrown in. You won't want to miss the Gene Autry medley.
Drop on down and see them, or listen on 90.5 FM Victoria. I am not sure, but I think this might be broadcast right across the province on CBC Radio One. Thanks Alan. I'm hoping the Drifters might go for some Hawaiian tunes at this time of year, just for the contrast.
Soft Focus (Marian Buechert and Steve Britten) will be stepping out at two Wired Monk Coffee emporiums (emporia? I vote for emporia) this weekend. Kickoff for both is 8:00pm:
Friday 7th: Wired Monk (Walnut Grove), 20330 88th Avenue, north Langley
Saturday 8th: Wired Monk, (east Cloverdale), 184th St. & 64th Avenue, Surrey (wow! there's an "east" Cloverdale, the old home town must have grown!)
Sat Dec 8, Little Mountain Band is back at Montmarte, 4362 Main Street. They'll take the stage about 8:30 and raise a ruckus until about 11:30. Hope to see your smiling face in the audience. Thanks Dave.
Also Sat Dec 8, not a Rogue show but info is at www.roguefolk.bc.ca for Here We Come A-Wassailing!
What else?
Dec 15 and 16, two show's by Norman Foote at the Evergreen Cultural Center in Coquitlam. Foote seems to really connect with kids. Tickets are $15 and $12 and going fast! As a special gift to you all, and to help you populate your iTunes holiday playlists, we've got a few classic Sugar Hill Christmas mp3s up on our myspace site that you can download for your collection! Taken from the classic 1993 Sugar Hill release "Sugar Plums", these acoustic Christmas selections can hopefully provide some respite from the standard Morman Tabernacle Christmas fare that may be in constant rotation in your family's stereo over the holidays.
Check em out now on the Sugar Hill Myspace Page.
A reminder, no Friday night jams at Celtic Woollens until after New Year.
Cheers,
Garry
